About Myself

If you couldn’t tell from the site title, I’m Quincy Zikmund. I have an amazing wife, 3 pugs, a beard, and I make websites for a living.

I started blogging in 2009 and since then I’ve gone through multiple blog names and more design changes than I can count. In that time I wrote over 100 articles, most of which were about what you might call the “deeper Christian life” and finding Christ-centered community outside the four walls of the institutional church. Throughout the last part of 2013 and beginning of 2014 I developed a love/hate relationship with this blog. I felt stuck and every time I would down to write nothing came out. If anything did come out I would just end trashing the post and closing my browser.

Therefore I came to the conclusion that I had two options. I could either walk take this site down completely and walk away from blogging or I could simply start fresh. I ended up removing all of my previous posts starting over. You can read my post Hitting Reset to learn more.

What You’ll Find Now

After a while of losing my voice I have gone back to basics and simplified my writing. The majority of the posts you’ll find here are glimpses into what I’m learning as I continue to follow Christ and simple living. I currently don’t allow comments on this blog. It’s not that I don’t want your input, it’s just that I want to be able to write for the sake of sharing rather for the sake of receiving comments. I’ve noticed that my writing is different when I take that approach. I would love to discuss my posts though. If you have thoughts, disagreements, or questions hit me up on Twitter or write a response on your own blog and tweet me a link.
