Rethinking Blogging And Writing Success

The idea for this post crossed my mind while waiting for my water to boil for my afternoon “tea time” at work. I hesitated starting to write this post about successful blogging for a few reasons.

1.) I’m not that qualified.

2.) It sounds prideful to call myself a successful blogger.

3.) I consider myself an “aspiring writer” more than a “real writer”.

4.) I love writing and try to blog as often as I can and as often as I feel compelled to share something of much substance. But I’m no expert on the matter.

It’s true that I’m not an expert. It’s also true that I’m an aspiring writer and not a real one. However, the reason for that is my own fault.

A Thank You, An Apology and Looking Forward

The year is almost over and my blog has seen a lot of changes. In the last few months this blog has seen a change of address and a new name. Since the address and name change this blog has seen 3 different theme designs.

I appreciate every person that has ever read this blog. Whether you’re a subscriber, occasional reader or this is your first time visiting the site, I appreciate you. I’ve been able to meet some great people through this blog.

Why I Don’t Have a Blog Schedule

I feel like there’s an ever-raging debate on the pros and cons of having a blogging schedule so I decided to weight in by explaining why I don’t have a blog schedule and why I have no plans to change to that.

A Little History of My Blogging

I started blogging in 2009 and to date I have only written 60 posts (this one would make 61). As you probably know, I recently changed the name of this blog from Christ the Center to Divine Discontent when I finally decided to self host my blog last month. My blog has always had one main focus, which is to explore and glorify Christ. That was the only reason started and to this day it is the only reason that I continue blogging. Sure, I have occasionally written about my personal life with my wife and interests in music and sports, but overall the main point of it all has been Jesus Christ and life in Him.
