Thank you for the encouragement, I really appreciate it. That verse from Philippians is really important to remember. Jesus lies ahead. He is not only the destination but also the path. It is all by Him, through Him and for Him. :)

Welcome to the race. Not everything will be smooth, but one thing we do: forgetting the things which are behind and stretching forward to the things which are before, we pursue toward the goal for the prize to which God in Christ Jesus has called us upward (Phil 3:13-14). The Lord is faithful and He is happy when we cooperate with Him for the building up of His Body, and when we take Him us our Head and us our all. May the Lord be gracious with you in this new beginning.

Thanks for sharing! That's an interesting thought. We have shared large pot-luck style meals before to celebrate different holidays, but I've never even thought about that. Abd yes, I'm really excited for what He has in store to increase Himself in us.

Also, interesting point about the 3 - 3-1/2 year thing. It seems that a lot of other Christians took that long to be outside of the institution before God started really establishing them in a fellowship like that. It's been tough, but good. We've become closer friends with many people and have really been able to experience little glimpses of community. I look forward to hearing more from you on here :)

Don - I am a huge Boston Bruins fan, but alas I'm just a hoosier ;)
And thank you, I appreciate it. Right now we're going to be getting together regularly to to just really seek the Lord's direction in all of this. We have been this whole time, but I feel like we're moving out of this "detox" phase are ready to move forward in Him. I've been blessed to have come in contact with lots of people involved in organic church life through this blog and on Twitter, which has been very helpful too.

Our home church is in St. Louis, Missouri. Went through the same process you describe two years ago. We had a literal house fire. Little did we know the Holy Spirit was going to set us on fire internally! One thing I read recently is that it takes about 3 - 3 1/2 years to get the world out of you... That is the same about of time the Lord had with the disciples, isn't that cool?! I dig your blog here, it seems like the Lord is taking you and your wife deeper, Praise God! 1 John 3:3 He's coming!

One thing If you don't do that I highly recommend, you more than likely have been led to, but celebrating Passover in the light of Christ! We've been doing that along with other Jewish feasts just trying to find out who our God is... It's an amazing experience. We aren't weird about it, and pretend to be Jewish or anything (even though we found out we have Jewish blood 2 years ago!) But it is just something the Lord has been showing us little by little. God Bless, I look forward to reading more.

Comment on The Pursuit Of Spiritual Knowledge: Soulish Or Spiritual? by Jonathan

Roy you make some great observations about Nee, and what happens after you read him haha. It seems like this book, The Spiritual Man, has been the hardest book I've ever tried to get through! I'm reading it with my brother and it is truly a spiritual battle, I know the enemy does not want people reading this!
I can relate to the things you said but from a different view. You see my family and I had attended a non-denominational church for years and years and only about 4-5 years ago came out of the church when the Holy Spirit spoke to my father and told us to "Go Home" and that's where we've been. Intimacy is what the Church lacks today, That is what the Chinese Church was born out of. Everyone is wearing a mask in the church and no one has any idea what's wrong, meanwhile everyone is broken and the Spirit cannot heal anyone because they all pretend to "alright."
We've had a home Church for some time now and it sounds like you may have been apart of a couple, but these little hidden cells, are apart of a much bigger picture I believe. The home church started in Acts, it is the model Nee used and it should be the model we use today. The True Christian is hidden in the world, just like the true Church is hidden in Iran and China and here in America. God is doing a mighty work my friend. I think one thing you may struggle with is finding Christians who aren't weirdos haha! There are so many strange Christians out there because they just can't accept it, they just can't get rid of their flesh and they fake it all the way to the bank... I pray you find genuine real Christians to fellowship with and to run the race with! God Bless! Keep looking up :)

Your second paragraph: it's great when we each can say, the Lord brought me here (wherever "here" is).
A later paragraph: yes, we give thanks for the past and press on for more of Christ.
Your ending: I thought you were in the Boston area. I do not know anyone in Evansville, but will send the link to this post to some Christians who meet in homes in cities within 200 miles; perhaps they know some in Evansville.
