Election thoughts

I’m disappointed. Especially with Indiana’s results. But the people have spoken and I won’t deny the results.

I expect our air, water, food, and public health to get worse because of the deregulation that’s been promised. But I hope I’m wrong.

I’m concerned for women that may be harmed by being denied life saving care during devastating emergencies. But I hope I’m wrong.

I’m concerned that prison stocks have gone up overnight. Do what you will with that information.

I’m concerned that more Christian nationalists have been elected and that Indiana's new deputy governor has called women that disagree with him and don’t line up with his interpretation of scripture “jezebel.” I’m concerned that he openly stated that God sent the January 6th riots.

I’m concerned that inflation will ramp back up due to increased tariffs. But I hope I’m wrong.

I’m concerned that insurance companies may once again be allowed to deny individuals based on pre-existing conditions if the ACA is dismantled. But I hope I’m wrong.

I hope my concerns are misplaced and that this government will actually work for the people. I’m not going to hope or cheer for America to fail. I want to be proven wrong on all of the above.

One last thing... The election turned out this way because current democrat politicians are incompetent. If you're unhappy about the results, as I am, don't be angry at your neighbors. Be angry at the establishment democrats. We deserve better.

I want the people in this country to succeed, be happy, and prosper.

These are my honest and calm thoughts as a 36 year old middle class small business owner in southern Indiana, an independent first time voter, and someone who generally wants the government to leave people alone, assuming they aren't causing harm to others or the environment.
